We are a non-profit agency of your community providing credit counseling, credit education and debt repayment programs.
Our agency was incorporated on October 22, 1997, under the nonprofit public benefit corporation law for public and charitable purposes in the state of California.
We are also recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit corporation by the Internal Revenue Service. Our federal identification number is 91-1865681.
We are members in good standing, adhere to the values and standards of the Better Business Bureau, California Chamber of Commerce, Downey Chamber of Commerce, National Institute for Financial Management (NIFE), and British Standard Institute (BSI) / International Standards Organization (ISO-9000).
We provide the community with educational programs on the wise use of credit and the sound economics of consumer credit.
Our goal is to relieve unwarranted financial burdens on wage earners and their dependents and to decrease the economic losses to individuals, creditors and the community resulting from unnecessary bankruptcies.
Our staff is composed of certified credit counselors (or credit counselors in training to become certified within 18 months). We provide credit counseling and education to our clients via telephone or face-to-face meeting. |
